Traffic Equalizer Tutorial

As soon as you get your copy of Traffic Equalizer, you can generate a highly keyword-targeted website within about 1 hour.  When you get more proficient, you can bring that time down to 30 minutes--depending on the size of your site.  Remember, volume of Traffic Equalizer sites is what generates revenue; you probably will not make much money from one site.

1.  Build in Keywords

After naming your project (I like to give it my domain name, like SpywareRemover.com), the first step is to add keywords.  You do not want to do this off the top of your head.  The reason is because, even though you may be conversant with the topic, or niche, you still have no way of knowing the keywords that people really search for.  For this, you need to generate a list of keywords.  I do not recommend Traffic Equalizer's internal keyword generator, Keyword Harvester.

Get keywords from DigitalPoint's free keyword generator.  One problem with the DigitalPoint generator is that you cannot export the keywords.  So, you're stuck with manually typing them.  One great alternative is Keyword Elite.  Choose the "Manually (Type or Copy/Paste)" option, and you will be given a blank form where you can drop your keywords.

2.  Templates

Eventually, you will want to create your own templates.  Templates are the design for the webpage.  They control the font, colors, sizing, and placement of everything on the webpage.  Most importantly, the templates control special tags that change in response to your keywords.  These tags are what make each page unique.  For now, though, you will be using the templates supplied with Traffic Equalizer.

If you were to be creating your own templates, you would select "View/Edit Template" or "Import From My Computer."

Since you are not doing this now, only select "Next."

3.  Appearance Options

You need to fill in "Index Name" and "Homepage URL."  Everything else you see in this screenshot has been automatically generated by Traffic Equalizer.  For "Index Name," you can call it anything at this point.  But "Homepage URL" must be filled in with the URL of the homepage of your site.  This is the upper-most page in your connecting website pages.

4.  Configure Sponsored Link Options

Skip step 4.  This is where you could put a link to an affiliate site.  For example, if you are promoting ringtones through Azoogle, this is where you would put a link to this ringtone site.

5.  Configure Results Files

Here you have many options that you will find yourself tweaking.  On this first run, leave everything as is.  But on your second run, try changing the keywords per page option.  It is default-set at 50 keywords per page, which really is excessive.  You want a good number of keywords on each page, but search engines are wary of sites that appear overloaded with keywords.

I like to switch from Multiple Folders option to Multiple Indexes.  It's not the end of the world if you have multiple folders, but from an organizational standpoint I find it easier to deal with multiple indexes.

Finally, you'll want to play with Output Filename Format.  This is purely aesthetic and does not affect performance.  However, it should be noted that some people consider the hypenated format (www.Get-Free-Viagra.com) to look very spammy.

6.  Configure Pop Up/Data Source

Nothing to do here.  You never want pop-ups because they will most likely get blocked.  If not blocked, they will be ignored.

For Data Source, you just need to take note that the buttons are green.  This means that the traffic source from which Traffic Equalizer pulls its information is up and running.  Note in this screenshot that the buttons are red--because I am working off-line and am not connected to the Internet.  But you want to make certain that when you use Traffic Equalizer you are connected.

7.  Generate Pages

Not much to do here, either.  Press the "Save Project & Generate Pages" button, and Traffic Equalizer will automatically start running.  If you have 100 keywords, depending on your computer and your Internet connection, you can expect the process to take about 6 minutes.

Traffic Equalizer will tell you when it is done.  Follow the link to the folder containing the generated pages. You have a number of options for uploading the pages to your web host.  For me, the easiest way is to go the program that I use to create websites and select the Import Files option.  Then I simply import files from the Traffic Equalizer folder straight into my program.  From there, I use my website creation program to upload those files to my webhost.
